A message from VPL Chair Detective Inspector Kate O’Neill

Published: Monday 29 July 2024

On behalf of the Board of Victoria Police Legacy I wish to advise that our CEO, Lex de Man AFSM, will be retiring from the role on the 31st December of this year after 8 and half years of service. I would like to thank Lex for his dedication and commitment to VPL. Lex has worked tirelessly to support Victoria Police families and we wish him well as he embarks on his next chapter.

I am extremely pleased to advise that Debra Robertson APM, who has just retired from Victoria Police at the rank of Commander, has been appointed to succeed Lex as the next CEO and will commence with VPL in January 2025. Deb brings to the role a raft of experience in the not-for-profit sector having been a member of the Blue Light Board for 12 years and its Chair during that time. Deb is also a past Executive Member of The Police Association of Victoria and is currently a Board Member of BankVic. Over the coming months Lex and Deb will work together to ensure a seamless and smooth transition.
