Introducing National Police Legacy Day – 17 June

This year, on 17 June, we proudly mark a new tradition: the very first National Police Legacy Day.

For 54 years, Police Legacy organisations across Australia have provided support to police and their families. Through both heartbreak and healing.

Now, we come together nationally to honour this legacy of care. It is also a day to recognise all those who serve in our police forces — and the families who uphold their memory with strength and pride.

To celebrate National Police Legacy Day, we’re proud to introduce the Police Legacy Daisy, inspired by the Michaelmas Daisy—the flower of St Michael, patron saint of police.

With the Police Legacy Daisy we honour those who currently serve our community and remember those who are no longer with us.

It reminds us of our shared responsibility: to ensure no police family is ever left behind.
