Well done to VPL Ambassador Sergeant Gary Watson for organising a Victoria Police Legacy team to plunge into the icy cold water of Port Phillip Bay over the weekend, along with over a hundred other participants in support of the Law Enforcement Torch Run's inaugural 'Polar Plunge' held at the South Melbourne Lifesaving club. Incredibly, over $60,000 was raised which will be used to support our amazing athletes from Special Olympics Victoria!
A huge 'THANKS' to Gary, VPL Field Officer Jennie Thorn and her daughter, Taylor, for taking the plunge. It was also great to see some familiar faces getting involved, including VPL Board Member and BankVic CEO Anthony DeFazio and Fighting PTSD Vicpol's Glenn 'Dutchy' Holland APM. We're looking forward to freezin' for a reason again next year!
